PRINTMAKING

The art of creating prints goes back centuries. In this course, students will experiment with and examine just some of the many methods of producing this type of artwork. and learn the history behind this form of artmaking. Techniques include relief printing, monoprinting, stamping, engraving, etching and screenprinting. A variety of materials will be utilized including linoleum, scratchboard, plaster casting, fish, vegetables, styrofoam and wood to name a few. Many important artists who contributed to the history of printmaking will be referenced throughout semester.
