Prairie Farm Choirs have established a tradition of excellence.  This group consistently receives outstanding scores at WSMA large group festivals, WSMA solo and ensemble festivals, and state solo and ensemble festivals. Prairie Farm choir students also may participate in the Lakeland all-conference honors choir, and the Dorian Choral festival hosted annually by Luther College Decorah, IA.

Choir students and parents,

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year.  Choral singing is a prized and popular method of self-expression.  All students are required to attend concerts and parents are encouraged to enjoy the event as well.  This is a performing organization.  All students are expected to sing out at every rehearsal and give 100 percent.  Please come with your best attitude for singing and your energy ready to work on our material.

Grading

25% Lesson attendance and performance

25% Participation by effort, attitude and rehearsal technique

25% Skill development

25% Musical knowledge

Grades will be reduced two full letter grades for every unexcused concert absence.

Attendance is mandatory unless prior arrangements have been made.  Unexcused absences cannot be made up.

Your best effort is expected during class to improve your vocal technique.  This also requires your positive attitude.

I will be monitoring your individual skill development in class.

You will receive written tests on the musical concepts we cover during class.
