fermentation, temperature changes, coagulation, etc. After creating products through scientific

This area of food study will
emphasize meal planning in the areas of special diets, meat cookery, and

Description:
Finding a place to live that you can
afford and like is not an easy task!
This course will help you make smart choices in selecting a home,
furnishings and color. We will study
historical housing, current trends, issues, and interior decorating by
completing multiple student projects.
Projects include, but are not limited to designing personal living
spaces. You will be using real samples
of carpet and wallpaper to decorate a personal living space. Along with selecting quality furniture and
decorating accessories. The semester
will conclude with developing your ideal community that you would like to
live in.

Description:
Through using our creative skills we
will be producing hand made products.
Projects will be chosen based on students’ previous experiences as
well as wants and needs for further learning.
Examples of some topics will include:
basic sewing techniques, quilting, clothing construction, handiwork
and craft skills. We will set personal
goals and they will be reached within the semester. Time will also be spent looking at careers
in the Apparel and Design Industry. Material fees will be collected.

This course will examine the
development of family relationships.
It will also examine how change affects you and your family
members. Students will have the
opportunity to explore conditions effecting families and the power the family
has to create change and how the family copes with this change.

Description:
Will children be a part of your life
or will you someday be a parent? If
so, then this is the class for you. We
will explore each stage of child development from prenatal to age six. Topics will include: reproductive health, pregnancy, prenatal
development and care, growth and development, parenting styles, the importance
of play, discipline and nutrition for children. Working with the Pre-K classes will help us
to apply the knowledge learned throughout the semester.

Description:
Personal Finance is designed to
prepare high school students to enter into and successfully participate in
the evolving financial system as informed and responsible contributors. Our main goal is to address the concerns: What can students do to become socially
responsible, ethical consumers? Our
emphasis on wise decision making in relation to financial literacy within the
family, community and society. This
course is centered around financial literacy concepts including: you the customer, consumer rights and
responsibilities, free market economics, understanding advertising and
marketing, making consumer decisions, the use of credit, saving and
investing, checking accounts, consumer loans, analyzing paycheck deductions,
budgeting and paying taxes.

Description:
This is an opportunity to become
acquainted with FCCLA, practice leadership development, and work with planning,
developing, and implementing community service projects. You do not need to be an affiliated member
to take the course. For member this is
a great opportunity to work on STAR Events, chapter service projects, and
other national programs.

Description:
This class is for freshmen or
sophomores only. This class will
explore basic practical information to help students successfully manage the
many aspects of their lives, personal relationships, financial management,
stress management, decision making, time management, positive attitudes,
communication and goal setting. Every
student should be informed about issues of everyday life. The information in Teen Issues enables
students to deal more effectively with the important issues in their live
both now and in the future.
