Selection of Architectural Services

The Board shall contract with a professional architectural firm to advise the Board and administration on the phases of the building program for which the architects have had technical training and experience. The architects shall translate the educational program for which the facilities are needed, into building design and specifications.

The architects may also be requested by the Board to:

1. Conduct a facility needs assessment.

2. Assist the district planners in designing a facility study; provide support for conducting a referendum, bidding contracts and providing construction documents.

3. Offer advice on letting of contracts.

4. Supervise or direct the supervision of construction.

5. Recommend approval and acceptance of completed facilities.

6. Supplement their services, when necessary, by consulting specialists such as electrical, structural, acoustical, civil and mechanical engineers, and landscape architects.
