Sunday Activities
In an effort to support the family unit and in recognition of the great demands schools make on student and family time, the school district designates Sunday as family day and strives to limit school activity on Sundays as much as possible. It is understood that some activities have been scheduled on Sunday in the past and have a rich tradition and will continue to be scheduled on Sunday when appropriate.
The Prairie Farm School District shall not schedule student activities, including athletic practices, on Sunday as a usual and customary practice. Scheduling athletic practice and other student events on Sunday must have a practical reason and are necessary for the eventual success of the activity.
Athletic practice may be scheduled on a Sunday on the rare occasion that a Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament game is scheduled for a Monday, or in the case of football game scheduled for the following Tuesday.
Coaches and activity advisors who feel a Sunday practice or competition is necessary must notify and seek permission from either the Administration or the Athletic Director. These instances should be kept to a minimum if possible and only scheduled as the situation dictates.
Any student requesting to be released for family and community organizational activities shall be released without pressure or penalty.
Open gym may be scheduled for community use on Sundays.
Wednesday Evening Activities
Activities shall not be scheduled for Wednesday evening unless special circumstances dictate otherwise In the event student activities must be scheduled for a Wednesday evening, the Athletic Director or activity advisor shall notify parents. Any student requesting to be released for family and community organizational activities shall be released without pressure or
penalty.
