News Media Relations

The Board encourages a policy of sound relations with the press and other communication media in the community and surrounding geographical area.

Generally, the Superintendent is the authorized spokesman for the Board and the school district on matters of district concern.

When an official action of School Board is under discussion, the Board President may be the authorized spokesman for the Board.

When an action of a Board committee is under discussion, the Chairman of that committee may be the authorized spokesman for that committee.

When a program of the school is under discussion, the employee responsible for that program may be authorized to speak for that program.

The above policy, in no way, shall limit the individual rights of a Board member or employee to express his or her personal opinion.
