Community Education

The School Board supports a comprehensive community education program that brings together and coordinates the resources or organizations, agencies, and community personnel, buildings, and equipment.

A community education program shall be implemented, subject to compliance with state regulations and guidelines.

The School Board recognizes the Community Education Advisory Council to serve as a catalyst in the development, initiation, coordination and support for Community Education programming.

The School District of Prairie Farm Model for Community Education includes five components:

·        citizen involvement

·        needs assessment and planning

·        extends use of public education facilities

·        interagency coordination and cooperation

·        leadership

These five components provide philosophical base for program development and a guide for action.
