School District of Prairie Farm

 

Safety Policy

 

Every reasonable precaution shall be taken for the safety of students, employees, visitors, and others having business with the school district.  The Board of Education believes that safety education and accident prevention are important to every one concerned with the Prairie Farm School District.

 

The District Administrator is delegated the responsibility of developing and executing the safe and healthful facilities program and shall serve as safety coordinator. The safe and healthful facilities program shall meet the requirement of the State of Wisconsin and the Department of Industry, Labor and Human Relations.

 

The practice of safety will also be considered a facet of the instructional program of the District schools.  Instruction in accident prevention, fire prevention, emergency procedures, and highway safety will be provided in appropriate grades and classes.

 

A safety committee shall be established with representation as follows:

 

                        1)         District Administrator

                        2)         Building Administrator

                        3)         Athletic Director

                        4)         Custodian

                        5)         Transportation Supervisor

 

The safety committee shall annually inspect the facilities and make recommendations for improvements in safety and facilities to the Board of Education.
