Support Staff Seniority

Seniority shall be counted form the signed contract date, upon successful completion of the trial period as specified in policy 548.1.  It shall be based upon actual length of continuous service for which payment has been received by the employee.  Employees on layoff shall retain their seniority from the date of layoff; however, no benefits of seniority shall accrue to employees while on layoff.

An employee with seniority shall be given priority status for consideration for job openings provided the employee is qualified through experience and/or training.
