Support Staff Leave
Leave of Absence
Family and medical leave shall be provided pursuant to Section 103.10, Wis. Stat. The Board, or its designee, may, in its sole discretion, grant additional unpaid leave to an employee for personal reasons. The Board's decision regarding requests for unpaid leave shall not be subject to review under the grievance procedure. While on such leave, the employee shall not receive nor accrue any fringe benefits or seniority. The employee must provide a one week notice prior to the leave or maintain on the job until a suitable replacement can be found.
A leave of absence may be requested in writing for up to three (3) weeks. After three weeks a conference may be necessary with the District Administrator. If extenuating circumstances requires an evaluation of the three week leave of absence, a meeting shall be scheduled with the District Administrator and the affected employee to discuss the status of the leave. Extended illness or injury is not included.
One three (3) week leave of absence could be granted. The employee must provide notice one week prior to the leave or until a suitable replacement is found. The leave is unpaid.
Leave of absence shall be at the discretion of the District Administrator.
Not more than one leave per work area will be approved concurrently, unless unusual circumstances exist.
