Qualifications

Mental alertness, neat personal appearance, good health, cooperativeness and dependability. This person must have sufficient dexterity to handle all equipment efficiently and safely. Must be able to exercise judgment and initiative in maintaining standards of job responsibilities. Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with staff and students.

Primary goal of the Cook

The goal of the Cook is to effectively discharge the duties of his/her job. This person must be able take direction from his/her supervisor as well as work independently. This individual is one who is comfortable with students, and members of the general public. This person must genuinely like and care for students.

Position Requirements and Responsibilities

1.Food Preparation Responsibilities  

1. Baking bread, rolls, and buns.
2. Making salad and desserts.
3. Assist in preparation of all food programs.
4. Other food preparation as requested by supervisor.

2. Food Serving Responsibilities  

1. Assist in preparation of food serving area.
2. Assist in serving food as directed.

3. Cleaning  Responsibilities

1. Clean serving tables, dishware, kitchen floor, tables, cabinets, commons and multi-purpose room tables.
2. Other cleaning as directed by supervisor.

4. Dress

1. All food service workers shall dress appropriately for working in the kitchen. This includes:

·         Wearing hair nets

·         Wearing appropriate gloves when serving food

·         Safety shoes are recommended

·         Wearing no jewelry

5. Other Responsibilities

a.      Assist with inventory of supplies.

b.      Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
