Substitute Teachers

Substitute teachers shall be employed by the School District of Prairie Farm, if

possible, in the absence of the regular teacher. Administration shall maintain a list of eligible substitute teachers and arrange for their work as necessary.

Rates of compensation for substitute teachers shall be determined by the District

Administration.

When it is not possible to obtain a substitute teacher, regularly employed teachers shall be asked to substitute. Regular teachers used as substitutes shall be compensated in accordance with provisions of the current employee agreement.

Long term substitute teachers shall be paid regular substitute pay for the first ten (10) consecutive days in a given position. Beginning on the eleventh (11^th) consecutive day in the same classroom he/she will be paid at the rate equal to the base salary divided by the number of teacher contract days agreed to by the board AND Northwest United Educators (N.U.E). Substitutes will not be entitled to any fringe benefits other than those required by state and federal law.
