Professional Staff Recruiting/Hiring

 

Upon receipt of a letter of resignation, the District Administrator shall notify the Prairie Farm School Board of the anticipated vacancy.

 

The District Office shall post all vacancy notices on the Wisconsin.gov web-site and other appropriate sources.

 

All correspondence from applicants shall be received and reviewed by the

District Administrator. The District Administrator shall screen, identify and interview all prospective employees. The District Administrator shall appoint a committee to assist in the interviewing process. For special education vacancies, the responsibility shall be shared by the Director of Special Education and the District Administrator.

 

The District Administrator shall make all employment recommendations to the Board. The appointment of any person to any position shall depend on his/her ability to serve the District and shall be conducted so as not to discriminate against an applicant on the basis of age, ancestry, color, creed, disability, marital status, national origin, race, sex, sexual orientation and any other basis protected by state or federal law. All contractual details shall be set by the District Administrator pending school board approval.

 

All persons employed by the Board shall complete the necessary employment forms required by state and federal laws and regulations.

 

When hiring certified staff after the third Monday in August and before school starts, a special meeting will be held to hire a suitable replacement. When a resignation occurs after the start of the school year, a substitute teacher shall be hired until the regular hiring procedure has been completed.

 

Specific staff recruiting/hiring guidelines shall be established.
