Toxic Substances and Infectious Agents
(Employee's Right to Know)
Under the direction of the Board, it is the responsibility of the administration to develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with the employee’s right to know law. The law addresses the employee's right to know about toxic substances, infectious agents and pesticides and the employee's rights regarding occupational safety.
To ensure compliance, the following steps shall be taken:
1. Notices shall be posted in appropriate places to inform employees that the District is required, upon request, to provide an employee with information regarding the identity of, precautions to be taken with, and procedures for treatment due to overexposure to toxic substances and infectious agents.
2. Employees may request information on toxic substances or infectious agents which they work with or are likely to be exposed to. Such information shall be provided as soon as possible.
3. Education or training programs shall be provided those employees who may be routinely exposed to any toxic substances or infectious agent.
