Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The District believes that drug and alcohol awareness training along with comprehensive drug testing for covered employees are the most effective approach to promote safety and reduce alcohol and drug abuse in the workplace. The District shall provide information that concerns drug and alcohol to ensure that all employees are aware of the effects and consequences of alcohol or controlled substances use on personal health, safety, and the work environment.
Any employee who engages in any conduct prohibited by District policy will be provided with information regarding resources available to evaluate and resolve a drug or alcohol problem. This information will provide names, addresses, and telephone numbers of substance abuse professionals, counseling and treatment programs available in the area.
All questions concerning the educational materials provided by the District, or about this policy, should be directed to the appropriate person as identified in writing by the District.
This policy in no way supersedes District policy pertaining to the use and/or abuse of drug and alcohol use on school premises or school owned property.
