SUICIDE PREVENTION, INTERVENTION AND POST INTERVENTION PROGRAM

The Prairie Farm School District recognizes that youth suicide, whether “ideation” or “attempt”, is a very serious problem. Since it is impossible to know if the student will actually self-destruct, action shall be taken as soon as possible. School personnel cannot be expected to solve this serious social problem alone. Schools can and should, however, play an important role in providing assistance to students who may need professional support and help. With this in mind, the Prairie Farm School District shall establish suicide prevention, intervention and post intervention procedures for implementation in the District.
