Student Discipline

 

Sound disciplinary measures shall be maintained in the Prairie Farm School District. School district staff members shall insure that proper student conduct is maintained in their classrooms, in the halls, on school premises, on scheduled field trips, and during school-sponsored activities.

 

A positive approach in the disciplinary measures shall be used, taking into account the dignity of the student, the seriousness of the infraction, and the need for positive motivation of students.

 

When a staff member is unable to adequately handle a behavior situation alone, he/she should contact the building principal immediately.

 

The building principal shall develop appropriate rules to promote desirable student behavior and discipline.

 

The Prairie Farm School District shall not discriminate in standards and rules of behavior or disciplinary measures, including suspensions and expulsions, on the basis of sex, race, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability. Discrimination complaints shall be processed in accordance with established procedures.
