STUDENT USE OF ELECTRONIC DEVICES

No student shall be permitted to use or possess an electronic paging device, laser pointers, or two-way communication device (beeper) on school premises. Cellular phones may be carried and used according to established building guidelines.

These guidelines should address times and areas where cell phones can be used.

Students violating these rules shall be disciplined according to established procedures.

This policy and building guidelines shall be published annually in the school district student handbooks.

An exemption to this policy may be allowed if the Board of Education's designee

(Building Principal or District Administrator) determines that the device is to be used for or is possessed for a medical, school, educational, vocational, or other legitimate use and permission is granted by the designee.
