STUDENT ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUG ABUSE POLICY ENFORCEMENT PROCEDURES

 

Any student found to have violated Board policy regarding alcohol and other drug abuse shall be subject to the following disciplinary actions:

 

1. The student’s parent(s) or guardian shall be contacted immediately by the principal, or his/her designee.

 

2. The police shall be notified.

 

3. The student shall be:

 

a) suspended and may be referred to the Board for an expulsion hearing.

 

b) If the student is expelled, the Board shall determine the length of the expulsion period. Consideration of possible early readmission may be based on participation in an ATODA (Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drug Abuse) program and a conference with the admitting principal, or upon other conditions precedent which are determined to be appropriate, in the discretion of the Board and Administration.
