Class Rank

The Board of Education directs the administration to maintain class ranking.  Class ranking shall be maintained starting with the 9th grade and continuing through 12th grade.  Only full-time enrolled students shall qualify for class ranking status.  Semester grades shall be used to calculate grade point average (GPA) for class rank.  Only high school level subjects approved by the Board, or its designee, shall be included in computing semester grades.

The following special provisions apply when determining class rank:

1.      A cumulative Class Rank will be kept in the counseling office for each class.

2.      On a yearly basis, the principal will be notified of senior class rank and cumulative credits the beginning of the year.

3.      Grade Points will be determined as follows:

                  A         4.0                   C+       2.33                 D+       1.33

                  A-        3.66                 C         2.0                   D         1.0

                  B+       3.33                 C-        1.67                 D-        .67

                  B         3.0                                                       F or I   .0

                  B-        2.66

4.      Grades received by students for courses taken at a Wisconsin technical college or university for dual credit or high school credit will not be included in determining the student's GPA.
