343.1 Rule

Correspondence Courses

 

Correspondence course opportunities shall be made available for students in the High School. Students may or may not be responsible for payment of the course.

 

  1. The correspondence course is necessary for a student to take because the student needs to make up credit: The student will be responsible for payment of the course.

 

  1. The student has been identified as an at risk student: The District shall pay for the costs of the correspondence course.

 

  1. The student has been identified as a one who would benefit by taking a correspondence course, and the course offering is not available on-line, through distance learning or by a local course offering. The District shall pay for the costs of the correspondence course. Note: This usually is for students who have schedule conflicts.

 

  1. The correspondence course is approved by the principal, school counselor as well as the student’s parent(s) and/or guardian.
