School District of Prairie Farm
Title I Policy
The Prairie Farm Elementary School will participate in the Title I program as a “Targeted Assistance” School. This means that Title I services will be provided to a selected group of children—those identified as most at risk of failing to meet the state’s academic achievement standards. Students will be selected for Title I based on the Needs Assessment and Student Selection Model.
The goal of our Title I program is to improve teaching and learning to enable students to meet our district and state standards. The program will meet student needs by:
- Using effective means for improving student achievement.
- Offering supplemental instructional time.
- Ensuring that the Title I instruction is coordinated with classroom curriculum.
- Strengthening the core academic program through the use of effective scientifically based instructional practices.
As in all aspects of education, parents play an important role in the Title I program. Parents are encouraged to participate in a variety of ways including: conferences, Title I evaluation and planning meetings, and family nights. An evaluation of parent involvement is completed at the end of each school year.
