School District of Prairie Farm

Public Comment at Board Meetings

The Prairie Farm Board of Education encourages constructive, orderly contributions from the public at all regular and special meetings. Meetings of the board are conducted for the purpose of carrying on the business of the schools, and therefore, are not public meetings, but meetings held in public.

The Board recognizes that citizens of the district are entitled to provide input and that

citizens can provide the Board with unique and important perspective on district affairs.

The Board further believes that it is desirable for citizens of the district to understand the process by which the school district is governed. Accordingly the public is encouraged to attend any of the regular or special meetings of the Board, except executive sessions.

Because the Board desires to hear the viewpoints of citizens throughout the district, it shall schedule one (1) or more periods during each meeting for public comment.

Guidelines for such participation at Board meetings shall be established and adhered to.
