Board Committees

 

The Board may grant the Board President the authority to appoint temporary Board committees for the purpose of investigating specific problems. Board committees shall be advisory only and shall have the power to investigate and report on issues. Such committees shall cease to exist upon completing their task and reporting their findings to the Board.

 

The Board may establish standing board committees to assist the Board in carrying out its duties and responsibilities. Standing committees are authorized to study designated issues and bring in-depth perspectives to the Board for consideration.

 

Standing committees include Board representation and leadership and may include members of administration, parents, staff, students and other community.

 

Standing committee membership is annually determined by the Board of Education.

 

Standing committees are advisory only in nature and do not act for the Board.

 

Standing committees operate under the provisions of Wisconsin’s open meetings law.

 

A specific policy provisions section for each standing committee shall be created to detail its responsibilities and operational parameters.

 

Public notice shall be given for all Board committee meetings in accordance with state law and established procedures.
