School District of Prairie Farm

School Attorney

The Board of Education recognizes its responsibility to operate programs that are in compliance with legislative mandates, agency regulations and court decisions specifically involving the district or requiring action or compliance by all Wisconsin school districts.

Fulfilling this commitment may require the employment of legal counsel to act for, and in some instances on behalf of, the Board, administration and others as designated by theBoard.

The District Administrator shall employ the services of an attorney(s) at the direction of the Board or when, in his/her judgement, it is in the best interest of the District to obtain legal counsel. Such action shall be taken as it is consistent with Board policy or standard practice and meets an obvious need of the district.

The District Administrator shall advise the Board as soon as possible of situations which, in his/her judgement, may obligate the Board to unusual and/or continuing legal costs.

Any attorney employed by the District Administrator shall serve in an advisory capacity to both the Board and the District Administrator.
